Quick answers
How do I become a surveyor in the UK?
Most surveyors take an RICS-accredited degree or master’s, or a surveying apprenticeship, then complete the APC to become a chartered surveyor (MRICS).
Do I need to be chartered to get a surveying job?
No. Many graduate and surveyor roles accept people working towards chartership; senior posts more often ask for MRICS.
How much does a surveyor earn?
It depends on the level of the role and the employer. See our salary guide.
